Children’s Safeguarding Statement – Norfolk and Waveney Designated Children’s Safeguarding Team
Safeguarding Statement
Norfolk and Waveney CCG is committed to the protection, safety and wellbeing of children and adults with care and support needs as a priority. It is the responsibility of all staff to act on any suspicion or evidence of abuse or neglect and report their concerns in the first instance to their line manager, other responsible person or agency.
As a CCG we are partners with the Norfolk Safeguarding Children Partnership, Norfolk Safeguarding Adults Board and Suffolk Safeguarding Partnership. We work collaboratively with statutory and non-statutory organisations to actively promote effective working relationships between different bodies and professional groups in order to address the issue of abuse and harm.
As Designated Professionals we offer a strategic professional lead on all aspects of the health contribution to Safeguarding Adults, Safeguarding Children and Looked After Children (LAC) across Norfolk and Waveney.
We represent health in the work of Norfolk Safeguarding Adults Board, Norfolk Safeguarding Children Partnership and Suffolk Safeguarding Partnerships and many of the sub-groups. We are responsible for advising on the performance of all NHS providers on safeguarding issues.
Independent contractors and their employees have key roles to play in the identification of children and adults who may have been abused, those who are at risk of harm and in subsequent intervention and protection; as such all staff have very clear safeguarding responsibilities.
You will find information here to make sure that your practice meets the statutory requirements for safeguarding children by providing information and guidance.
If you are concerned about a child or adult with care and support needs, please find contact details below.
