Laser Hair Removal – Non-face body areas & for non-cosmetic reasons

Threshold

Laser hair removal will be funded by Norfolk and Waveney Integrated Care Board (ICB) if the patient meets the minimum eligibility criteria below:

• Is undergoing treatment for pilonidal sinuses to reduce recurrence

OR

• Has undergone reconstructive surgery leading to abnormally located hair-bearing skin. For example, if reconstructive surgery has led to hair growing in places it would not normally do so such as in the mouth.

Cases for Individual Funding Consideration (Patients who do not meet the policy criteria)

On a case to case basis, patients might be eligible for intervention, in consideration of their exceptionality. The requesting clinician must provide information to support the case for being considered an exception, by submitting an individual funding request.
